Founded in 2013 at the historic Montreal Art Center and Museum, the Global Art League Competition is a prestigious international contest for both professional and emerging artists. Hosted within the stunning walls of our historical building in Montreal’s vibrant Griffintown district, this competition provides an extraordinary opportunity for artists worldwide to showcase their talents.
Participating artists gain the chance to have their artworks featured for sale on our website, reaching a global audience of art enthusiasts and collectors. Additionally, the Montreal Art Center and Museum Committee will select top artists to exhibit their best works in our renowned gallery spaces and compete for exciting cash prizes.
For the past decade, our artists’ creations have reached audiences in over 1,200 cities across 100 countries via our online platform! Unlike many galleries that charge thousands of dollars for exhibitions or take high sales commissions, the Global Art League makes international recognition accessible and affordable. This competition allows artists to present their work in one of North America's most vibrant cultural hubs— Montreal.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of this world-class celebration of art!
Located in the heart of Griffintown, a neighborhood rich in industrial history and cultural revival, the Montreal Art Center & Museum is housed in a historic building dating back to 1875. Originally constructed by Scottish entrepreneur John McDougall, the building was home to the Caledonian Iron Works, a thriving foundry that employed over 300 workers. The foundry produced components for ships and trains, playing a vital role in the industrial development of Montreal during the late 19th century.
In 2010, this historic building was transformed into the Montreal Art Center & Museum , becoming a hub for creativity and artistic expression. Today, it operates as a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive art community. The center provides working studios for artists, creating a nurturing environment where creativity flourishes.
Beyond its studios, the Montreal Art Center & Museum serves as a vibrant platform for exhibitions, giving artists from Montreal and around the globe the opportunity to showcase their work to the public. These exhibitions feature a wide range of artistic mediums, including painting, acrylics, oil, watercolor, sculpture, and many other forms of creative expression. The goal is to bring art out of the studios and into the world, connecting artists with audiences and offering a space where creativity can be celebrated.
The Montreal Art Center & Museum is more than just a place—it's a community and a home for artists, honoring Griffintown’s rich history while shaping its future as a cultural landmark.
